white club trailer__________________________________________________________2008
the moon's fascinating charm still has a hold over us. the tension between
concreteness and fiction does, however, lead to repeated intermixtures of
reality and virtuality. influenced and manipulated by TV and the cinema, we
have almost become unable to discern (supposed) truth and (supposed) knowledge.
where are the actual limits of science that are carved in stone, and where
are utopias no longer real? these are the questions that the white club team
deals with in a fictitious film. but how make a fictitious film without robbing
it of his fictitious character?
finally, we decided to produce a movie trailer entitled "space mission",
to give the untouchable a sheath, an outer surface, a cover. according to
the usual perception habits of human beings, its blurb could read as follows:
"the
journey through the immensity of outer space is onerous and full of dangers.
still, four fearless astronauts dare to start out to search for answers in
a distant place. they courageously explore unknown territories, collect substances
and soil samples and eventually find the fateful traces of foreign life.
the disaster takes its course. fiction turns into merciless reality, which
strikes brutally hard. the earth becomes a scene of horror as sinister forces
and mysterious figures step in and threaten to plunge the whole planet into
chaos.
meanwhile, the young Luc goes his own ways, secluded from the rest of the
world. dreamy, melancholy, but nevertheless purposefully working, the introvert
young amateur astrophysicist develops ever new ways designed to allow him
to get into contact with extraterrestrial civilisations..."
equipped
with plenty of movie props, a highly motivated and talented film crew and
acting talents we were at work in the summer of 2008 in Lithuania. in the
impressive setting provided by the wandering dunes of neringa, which create
the impression to be on another planet, and a place not far from this by the
sea, we used a mobile film set to capture images which had never been seen
before.
